Is Marky Mark Wahlberg trying to rewrite history?‏

One must wonder:  Why is Mark Wahlberg so concerned about being called “Marky Mark”? Granted, we all know that he has evolved into what many consider to be a serious thespian, but is his past so embarrassing that he thinks he can pretend it didn’t exist?  Does he think America forgets?
I’m not asking anyone to disobey Marky Mark, but is it not curious that someone so focused on forgetting his past still maintains such a strong connection to it?  We all know that in every major film Marky has starred or appeared in, the entire Funky Bunch has also been involved.  True, in some cases members of the Funky Bunch, such as Scott Ross AKA Scottie Gee, have only appeared as extras, but the fact remains:  Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch are still together.  Please join me in urging Marky Mark to stop denying his roots.  I’m not asking for another album.  I’m not asking that he be listed as “Marky Mark Wahlberg” in film credits.  I’m just asking that he stops the charade.  We cannot grow as a culture if we are afraid of our history…
